sturgillsjpg.jpg
sturgillsjpg.jpg609 viewsThis picture had the inscription "taken from behind Aunt Callie's house" on it. It's the view of the Sturgill's community facing the road to Lansing (Rt. 194?) and was taken in about 1930, I'd guess. My recollection of recent visits is that the view hasn't changed all that much. Callie Pennington was married to I.R. Kilby (second marriages for both). I believe their son Glenn inherited this property and his son Terry continues to live there. Photo courtesy of Emily Kilby

heltonss.jpg757 viewsThis is a Sunday school photo, probably taken around 1915 if the woman sitting top center with her arm draped over the shoulder of a big-eared son is, indeed, Ada Littlewood Francis (oldest son had stick-out ears). The picture was taken on the front steps of Herbert and Hannah Littlewood's home on Helton Creek. Courtesy of Emily Kilby.
