FLOOD OF MARCH 1963 RAISED THE WATER LEVEL IN THE WELL FIELDS. THE PICTURE WAS MADE WHERE LAKE DRIVE INTERSECTS WITH PALMER LOOKING SOUTH. 
 
IN 1963, THERE WAS A SMALL POND TO THE LEFT OF PALMER AVENUE WHERE THE SOFTBALL FIELD NOW SITS. AS YOU CAN SEE, PALMER WAS IMPASSABLE AND FOR A FEW DAYS THE PONDS WERE QUITE LARGE.  Courtesy of Don Smith [email]dsmith1043@comcast.net[/email]
