Directions: This cemetery is on Old Bridle Creek Drive (Rt 601) about 4.2 miles northwest of Wilson Hwy (US 58) and just north of Grubb’s Chapel Church.

Surveyed by: Ginger Ballard in March 2003; updated in May 2007 and Mar 2009. Additional information is derived from a variety of sources including Ben and Mintie Hash, Mary Harrington, Paul Herndon, Carol Lewis, obituaries, census data, family research, and DAR cemetery records.
Comments: This cemetery is well-maintained and currently in use. There are many concrete markers in this cemetery which in the mid-1980s contained painted information but now is long gone. To say the stones in this cemetery are in “rows” is very generous as they meander all over the place.Land for this cemetery was donated by Samuel Bishop. The first burials here were those of ten or so African Americans of the community including unknown members of the Thompson family. These ten unmarked graves are on the lower edge of the cemetery close to the church.There are 400 graves identified in this cemetery including pre-need markers. Approximately 150 are marked with concrete markers or field stones.
