Born in Surry, NC, he was a retired furniture builder when he came to West Stayton eight years ago from Lambsburg, VA.
He leaves a widow, Josie (Bartlett, his 2nd wife); sons Whitfeild and Ralph of West Stayton, Roy of North Santiam (Oregon), Carroll of Aumsville (Oregon), Forrest of Ft. Worth, TX, and Paul of Lambsburg; daughters Mrs. Betty Dalton (first name Ila) and Mrs. Janie Whitfield of Galax, VA, Mary Taylor of Newark, NJ, Mrs. Nina Haumacher of Lambsburg and Mrs. Lillian Poplin of West Stayton(Oregon); brother Owen Taylor of Greensboro, NC; 51 Grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 pm at Weddle Chapel with Rev. Wesley Lawrence and Rev. Lloyd Birks officiating. Interment will be at Lone Oak Cemetery (Stayton, Oregon)
