Brother Church died as he had lived in the triumph of a living faith in his blessed Redeemer and we have every reason to believe that when he came to the Jordan of Death that under him were the everlasting arms, and that Jeseu took him to His breast. Sleep on, then, dear brother, until Jesus comes and thy soul shall put on an immortal body. We would say to the weeping widow and children not to weep, for you shall soon see him again where sad partings come no more. The funeral services of Brother Church were conducted by Elder A. J. Wagoner and W. A. J. Just in the prime of life, when nature seemed to foretell the beauties of health and the enjoyments of life in this world, disease made its way into this humble home and took hold upon our beloved sister and brought her down upon the counch to suffer and die. Little did they think that Linnie's sickness was unto death. But she told her father and mother that she would never get well, and that she wanted them to meet her in heaven. She said she was going to see Lula, her baby sister that had passed away Sept. 13th, 1896. I visited her just before she died and I never heard such a bright testimony in all my life of her future happiness in the far beyond. She knew every thing till the last and called up her cousins and begged them to meet her in Heaven. Then with an angelic smile upon her face, and voice clear and sweet, she sung her favorite songe, "Oh, why not tonight?" And then passed away to Spirit land, there to be with the redeemed forever more. Bereaved friends ever let those words of Linnie's have a place in your memory and do as she bid you to meet her in that beautiful city on high, where there is no sickness, pain nor death, but all joy, peace and happiness forever.
Sleep on dear Linnie's till the truilipet shall sound,
To wake the nations under ground,
And soar above with kindred meet
And cast your crown at Jesus' feet.
