Mrs. W. M. Dalton, 77
Mrs. Ila Elizabeth Dalton, 77, Stockyard Road, Galax, died Wednesday, June 27, 1984, in Twin County Community Hospital.
She was born in Surry County Jan. 18, 1907 to Osborne Taylor and Maggie Donithan Taylor.
She is survived by her Husband, W. M. "Bill" Daltonfive daughters, Mrs. Mae Baumgardner, Mrs. Mildred Vaughan, and Mrs. Betty Edwards, all of Galax.; Mrs. Twila Mace, Elkin, NC, and Mrs. Greta Absher, Kingsport, Tenn.; four sons, A. L. "Sonny" Bean, Danny Bean, and Joe Dalton, all of Galax, and Billy Bean, Elkin, NC; six step children, 24 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Janie Whitfield and Mrs. Nina Haumacher, both of Galax, and Mrs. Mary Balcerzak, Stuarts Draft; and two brothers, Redgie Taylor and Whit Taylor, both of Oregon.
The funeral will be held today (Friday, June 29) at 2 pm in St Joseph Catholic Church. Father Merritt Jones and the Rev. F. E. Jennings will officiate. Burial will be in the Galax City Cemetery.
