Welcome to our historical resources page for the Upper New River Valley of North Carolina and Virginia. (Ashe, Alleghany, Watagua and Wilkes County, North Carolina and Grayson County, Virginia; other parts of Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee).

This site is now owned by the Grayson County, Virginia Heritage Foundation, Inc.. The site was developed by Jeff Weaver and much of the material was generated by him. Many other researchers have also contributed to this site.

The information found in this site is organized in two ways, first chronologically. Items which are time specific are presented first in chronological order. Information which is not strictly related to time is presented following that information on a subject by subject basis.
